Samuel Wilcar Branson – Word was received of the death of Samuel W. Branson who was found dead in bed Monday morning at his brother’s home at Ladoga, Indiana where he was visiting. He was a resident of the city of Muncie for the past 30 years, having come to the city in 1895 to take a position with the Lake Erie Railroad Co. He had held several positions with railroad companies for the past 35 years.  He is survived by two sons, Edwin L. Branson of Dayton, Ohio and Ernest L. Branson of Muncie with whom he made his home since the death of his wife, Emma E. Branson in 1917. He had a host of friends in Muncie, especially among the railroad men. The funeral will be held at the home of his brother, Thomas L. Branson at Ladoga at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Greencastle at 3 p.m. Wednesday (Forest Hill).

Samuel W. Branson, 69, retired railroad man, died suddenly Monday morning at the home of his brother, Thomas of Ladoga, Ind.  He came to Muncie in 1885 and was connected with the railroad business for 35 years.  He is survived by two sons, Edwin L of Dayton, O and Ernest L of Muncie. The funeral will be held at Greencastle at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
